Luigi Nuñez
Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity

Luigi Nuñez is an active member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity since 2014. Throughout his PSP journey, he has served in multiple officer positions (including Vice President, National Delegate, Parliamentarian, and multiple committee chairs) and national committees (such as PSP’s National Development Committee and PSP’s Constitution and Chapter Standards Committee) starting in his undergraduate sophomore year; volunteered as a Chapter Excellence Board advisor (providing 1-1 support to collegiate chapters as it regards to operations and finances) since the program began in 2017; and is certified in and facilitated multiple Leadership in Action modules. Nuñez has also served as delegate and alternate delegate for his collegiate chapter, the DC area alumni chapter, and PSP’s National Alumni Association.
Professionally, Luigi is a Digital Health and Monitoring Advisor at Population Services International, with experience in algorithm optimization, clinical research for endometriosis and oncology, and use of digital technologies for improving population health as it pertains to malaria, sanitation, and reproductive and sexual health. He has supported the World Health Organization and Ministries of Health in more than 20 countries in the use of technology and data to eradicate malaria and is published in multiple international peer-reviewed journals such as Malaria Journal,  American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and Journal for Computational and Applied Mathematics.
He has also led the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of information systems for project monitoring, quality improvement of facility- and community-based healthcare services, malaria surveillance, and private sector reporting on projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Unitaid. Most recently, he focuses on leveraging digital technologies and human-centered design principles to advance data-driven decision-making and operationalize data-to-action by strategic and implementation actors.
For fun, Luigi loves scuba diving and dancing bachata, merengue, and salsa.
