Outstanding Community Service Award

Phi Sigma Pi
Alpha Eta Chapter
University of Delaware

The Alpha Eta Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity at the University of Delaware has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to service, compassion, and community impact through their partnership with the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and their B+ Hero, Benny Pin, and his family.

Since being introduced to Benny in February 2022, the Chapter has gone far beyond traditional fundraising, cultivating a heartfelt and enduring relationship with Benny, his sister Amelia, and their parents. Through regular events like ice skating outings, fall days at Milburn Orchards, birthday celebrations, and summer ice cream meetups, Alpha Eta members have shown what it truly means to live out the ideals of Fellowship and Service. Their involvement in the UDance community and consistent personal outreach have made a lasting impression on Benny’s life—and his presence has deeply impacted theirs.

In the words of Chapter President Victoria Alves, “The relationship our chapter has with our B+ Hero Benny and his family is one of my favorite things about being a member of this organization.”

In 2025, Alpha Eta raised over $22,000 for the B+ Foundation through UDance, contributing to the event’s total of more than $1.8 million. Their efforts support the Foundation’s mission as the largest provider of financial assistance to families of children battling cancer in the U.S., while also funding cutting-edge research and advocating nationally.
Alpha Eta’s service is a shining example of Brotherhood in action, and their dedication to making a meaningful difference is truly deserving of recognition.
